"I am a politician by accident" – Manmohan Singh

The IBN Live has a program “Kings and Queens” where they portray the life of an Indian politician in each episode. Here is a one on Indian Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. This program throws light into the life of Indian Prime Minister that lot of us never cared to know. 

The first video takes you to Guh, seventy kilometers from Islamabad where Dr Singh was born. His daughter talks about the kind of life Dr Singh had as a kid. “Mohana” as he was called during his childhood lost his mother and was raised by his grand mother. See the first part of the video here.

The second video introduces his wife and three of his daughter. They talk about his work ethics and his expectation from them. This video also takes us through his career till he lost the Lok Sabha election from Delhi.

The third part of the video talks about how he become the first Prime Minister of India with a PhD degree and how weak he was as a Prime Minister compared to others who occupied this coveted chair.

The fourth part of the video throws light into a different Manmohan Singh – a man with a mission – mission of getting approval of the Indian Parliament for the Indo US nuclear deal. It also talks about the terrorist attacks in India during his tenure. This video also has some rare photos of Dr Singh with his family

Even if he gets another chance to take oath as Prime Minister of India, he will always be remembered along with former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao as one of the architects of modern India.
